DLG and CICOS issued graduation certifications to 10 Chinese young agricultural professionals of the Sino-German Trainee Programme Phase II

On November 24, 2016, Dr. Reinhard Grandke, Chief Dxecutive Officer of German Agricultural Association (DLG), together with Ms. Huifang Lin, the Deputy General Director of Center of International Cooperation & Service of MoA (CICOS) and Mr. Hermann Huckert from Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) issued vocational education certificates to ten Chinese young agricultural professionals of the Sino-German Trainee Programme Phase II at the farewell ceremony in Frankfurt a. M., Germany. The Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMEL) and the Ministry of Agriculture of the People´s Republic of China agreed on the promotion of Sino-German Trainee Programme for Chinese young professions in the agricultural sector on March 23rd, 2015. It is composed by BMEL and MoA that the DLG shall carry out the project independently with cooperation with the Center of International Cooperation Service, MoA (CICOS).

In addition to seminars and other theoretical training, an independent internship in German agricultural enterprises is a core content of the project. This year, partner companies providing internship opportunities are AFC International, BASF Agricultural Center, Claas KGaA mbH, Deula Westerstede and Nienburg, Esteburg Obstbauzentrum Jork, Geflügelhof Schönecke GmbH, Horsch Maschinen GmbH, H.Wilhelm Schaumann GmbH & Co. KG, Julius Kühn-Institut and DLG-Testzentrum Technik und Betriebsmittel. 

    

The aim of the program is to establish a sustainable network for Sino-German agricultural exchange and cooperation. So far, more than 20 companies from the German agricultural sector have been supporting the program, which is intended to provide Chinese young agricultural professionals with intercultural skills and intensive professional knowledge. So that they are prepared to take over the management tasks in agriculture and agribusiness in the Sino-German context. According to the Sino-German Cooperation Action Plan, signed by Prime Minister Li Keqiang and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in 2014, agricultural cooperation will become one of the key areas of future innovation cooperation between the two countries. The program is a further step in the intensification of cooperation in the agricultural sector.
